Well it's been a while since I posted as I was out of the country but thank fully we went by train. the eurostar from Brussels to London lets the train take the strain entirely. It's also a tenth of hte carbon of flying and quite cheap.
so anyway what news on the gardening front. Time is still passing slowly. The weather in Holland has been pretty cold with minus temperatures for more than a week at hte start of January. I've spent some time trying to find a source for unusual veg, particularly seed potatoes in Holland.
And I've found one.
www.vreeken.nl‏ This place is brilliant. I placed an order on the first of January and the first part of it arrived by the 14th. The seed potatoes aren't here yet due to the weather problems.
In the second year of our plot we planted Dutch variety seed potatoes which produced lots of small tubers. Then last year we got some British varieties and were amazed at the difference in size so we decided to see if we could find a better selection locally. I have a particular interest in growing purple vegetables and this site also has purple potatoes.
Can't wait for them to come.
