Strawberries picking has really taken off. Around 1.5 kg last week has made 7 pots of jam. This week so far we have 1.2kg which wil fill the jam cupboard on Friday when Bio gas man has another day off hopefully.
Our little family of Blueberry bushes is groaning with fruit and the ripening process has started. Last year we had very few berries so we did a bit of research and decided to do something drastic.
In March we replaced all their soil with rhodedendron soil and added some garden leaves that were fairly rotted. It seems to have paid off judging by hte fruit there so far.
The black and red current bushes also have ripening fruit in large quantities. The rhubarb is beginning to wilt and we have stopped pulling it. We made some great crumble.
The Autumn fruiting raspberries are growing gracefully and quitely away.
Our plum tree is now called 'one plum', but hte apple has around 30 fruits and the magic pear tree has around 40 swelling pearlets.
In April our fig looked sad so I transferred it into a pot to limit the roots, it is starting to produce more new leaves so we'll see what that does for it.
The bramble bush that we transferred to the side fence has really taken off and is now covered in flowers. The Autumn should be special.
